ORD lo!
I'm close to a week late to actually say this but it still feels good when i think about it.

ORD day was kinda busy. Went cdc with my mother to her PDL renewed as well topping up her account to get her started on her driving lessons. Now that i think about it, private is wayyy cheaper than school. Just that the waiting time is too long and well, school is definately more organised and structured in terms of the concepts/skills to master.
I was late to meet up with the ORD guys to get my pink I/C. Nevertheless, my dearest PA still accompanied all the way to the branch to get everything done. That feeling of finally receiving something that I've "lost" 2 years ago is just awesome. I've finally ORD-ed. We had a farewell lunch at the spec mess, ordered a whole lot of food because we realized we are never, ever ganna get to taste spec mess food, maybe until next time when i re service or something. Too good a lunch, too great a company. Had some talk before receiving our plaques and testimonials.

Looking back 22months ago on that same very day, i had just enlisted into the army, learning to be independent. Taking control/responsibility in my life. I had to juggle being in the army as well as the life outside army. Oftentimes, the very thought of going back to tekong and being 'tortured' there made me feel restless at home. It was mentally draining. I'll admit that i was happy when i was given the opportunity to train and pass out as a 3SG. Those were the best training days with the best buds. It's a rollar coaster ride, and booking in meant more fun and laughter with the mates i have there.
Military police was something different than the normal army. I studied the law that governs the SAF, as well as techniques that maybe only policemen or related will get to learn. It's an eye opener. A sense of pride and accomplishment overwhelmed me when i stood at the Leader's Square getting ready to pass out as a 3SG. My parents came to watch me, we took photos. It was a moment of, pure nostalgia.
Being in PLAB, a premium airbase, it was surely much more tiring than the other airbases. However, the work and duties given to us trained and made me into someone that can work anytime of the day. Waking up at 3am to go roundbase was a pain, waking up at 12midnight to work through the night was tiring. It all got better as the days goes by and after taking over detailing from my upperstudy. It was much more shag, sleep deprived. Looking back, i was glad i did detailing. It enabled me to bond better with the guys and they also had a better understanding of me. I'll never forget what they see me as, and till the last day in army, they still call me leng leng. Any other dialect words that has a similar meaning to slack. I will admit, i did alot of stupid things which somehow, gained the respect of many people. And this friendship and respect we had for each other enabled me to work better when i went into the centre since April. It was then that i learnt to rush out last min work yet must be of high quality, maintaining good working terms with the higher ups. It wasn't easy, i screwed up alot, but the office guys always made my day better.
Thank you everyone for making my enlistement less painful, for making my training less tiring, for supporting me through the tough times. My family and my dearest girl saw me through the whole journey, and without their support and encouragement, along with the ears and love they provided/showered me, i've finally completed my National Service.

TP TOMORROW. Facepalm.
