Rewind back time all the way to before i pop. Just realised that i got alot of things that i haven update onto my blog. BUT YES I POP ALREADY. WOOHOOOOO. Anyway, friday was the the day that our bmt like offically ended. Last high key event was the 24km route march. We were being forced to sleep in the afternoon and then took a ferry and stuff. Began marching at like, 7.30pm i think to the start area which was about 1km away. Then the offical march started and we ended around... 3.45am i think. March pass the whole changi stretch of road, the whole east coast park, headed down to marina barrage and pass it. Stop under a highway and cross the whole highway before arriving at the F1 pitstop where we had a break and light refreshments before heading over to marina platform, which was like another 600m march. Sounds easy right, hell no. It was fun, but with the weight of the field pack, it's an entirely different story. We had short breaks and like 100plus on a few of our rest points namely at 11.5km and 22.5km i think. Cannot really remember. Those were the best times of the whole march. Rest. Marching and singing songs and cheering and just laughing the pain away was something we all had to did. 24km is like wtf! But i'm glad that we all made it. We had to, or we couldn't do the parade. Our rest point is at the F1 grand pix that area. There's this quote that we hold "Pain is temporary, regret is forever"How true, i'll really regret if i couldn't do the parade. Afterall, we freaking reherse it idk how many times for 3 days, rain or shine before perfecting it and it was our pride to showcase it to our parents. Parade started at like 8am at the platform. Oh it was an awesome view looking at the audiences. I ca I think the best part was after the BMTC roar, when the MC announced "We are proud to present to you, the TRAINNEEEEDDDD soldiers!" I think at that point in time, that kinda feeling inside me just waiting to burst out was (fill in the blanks). Throwing the jockey cap high up in the air, a word will prolly summarise it. Shiok. Lots of freaking photo taking after that, and below are just some of it. I particularly like the one that we threw our caps high up in the air. Really, just shiok lah, shiok. :D ![]() ![]() Those were the crazy stuff that pushed our mental strength to the max, at that point in time. Individual field craft prep us and taught us what we needed to know for outfield. And that was the first time i freaking stepped out of my comfort zone. We got to prone in grassy areas and trust me you can see insects walking pass you. Crawl in the mud just to pick up RUBBIST?! We got to high kneel despite our painful our knees were. Slept in muddy water that gets my whole freaking shirt wet the next morning. That time, the only thing was "fuck care lah, just freaking put the camo on and chiong through the thing". It's that kinda thinking that gets me through each and every lesson okay. It helps, amazingly. LOL. Not to forget there was all the strength training, group runs, close combat training, ippt, ioc. Woah shag like crap. But it was super satisfying especially ippt! I freaking love my 2.4km timing and i owe it to climbing the stairs 5 floors up and 5 floors down to take our stuff down. We climb daily like 10 over times in total. But still, i dislike running. I'll only run if i see that it is important that i run, if not. Heckkk lahhh, take it easy. I think route march was the most meaningful event for me. It was progressive, 4km then 6km then 8km then 12km then 16km then 24km. I remember the first time i march 4km, i was on the verge of dying after 2km sia. I dunno how i managed to survive the last 2km. My shoulder was aching like crazy and stuff. Needless to say, 6km was also hell for me. But suddenly 8km felt damnnn easy! 4km seem like a small part of it. I can just march the 4km then rest and continue another 4km when just 2 weeks ago, i almost died doing 4km. Then came 12, 16. Then 24km, we did 4km 4km 3.5km 4.5km 2.5km 4km and finish it with a 1.5km over the highway. Wtheck, i think about it, it's like 4x the 4km i did. But somehow, 4km seem okay. We sang songs, sweat our the agony with one another. I even had a htht with one of platoon mates like wth! I feel freaking strengthened after the 24km seriously. We look forward to EVERY EVERY EVERY FREAKING MEAL tha we have in tekong because the food there is just great lah please. So those going in during May, dun worry, food is awesome. 1 plate of food costs about 6 bucks plus outside. So be damn contented with the food. That's the only time that there is welfare, and genuine welfare. Haha. After the pop, we had a week of block leave and it was super awesome not needing to wake up early in the morning just to fall in for 5bx and all that stuff. I felt super lazy though and everytime, stepping out of the house is seriously damn screwed. The inertia to change and all that is just like the mass of (something heavy). But after stepping out, everything changed. Alot of things happen during block leave and it has been a fruitful one at least up till now. Met up with secondary school friends, jc friends, section mates and had tons of fun. Now, it feels like all the fun is being condensed into 1 week and it's freaking hard to squeeze time to catch up. But somehow, we all managed to and i'm glad it did. I kinda miss those times actually but we'll have more of it in the future :D. Just recieved my posting in the morning, going to scs/wsas. Seargent cadet school. Another 22weeks of a bmt-like style before passing out once again. But this time as a seargent and no more a private! Like finally, that will prolly conclude all my training and stuff. But yeah, i heard stuff about being in scs and obviously it's not ganna be easy, but at least i'm sure, very sure, there'll be more free time. And that's all i need to recharge and ready up for the next day. Life as a recruit was shag, because we din had enough sleep. Kinda contented with my posting though, got what i wanted, so shall just make the best outta it. I gotta a few people to thank and the first is my Family. My Mother who helped me wash my clothes everytime i bookout, despite it being how muddy and staying up late just to make sure that the clothes will get dry in time. Thanks for going the extra mile to buy the food that i crave for and made me feel so much better at home. My Father who listened to all the stories i had to share during my bmt period. I think it helped him relieve abit of his too. Thanks for helping to wash the field pack and stuff, giving me advices on where i should go and tips to survive in bmt. My Sister of course, who disturb me whenever i'm on my bed and talking rubbish with my, telling me about her life once in a while. There're my pillar of support. Next up will be Huiyi. Thanks for the motivational messages and the company at night, listening to my rants once in awhile and hearing me complain about the whole company and how screw up it can get. It gives me something to look forward through the day and i really enjoy reading the tons of msges you sent me when i was outfield cause it really cheered me up when i came back. Without you, i'll surely have a much much harder time going through the whole bmt so thanks for making my life sooo much simpler and of course, sweeter too! Jc is tough, stressful at times. It makes you feel super demoralized when your expectations are not met. I understand how you feel but trust me, things will get better as the months go by. It's always like that during the starting, so hang in there! I'll make your life so much more bearable. Hahaha. Then there was Emily, Lynette, Desiree, Jingyi, BoonHan, Arnold, Leonard, Sigit. These people would send me random msges and start making me laugh at odd timings. Yeap, sorry i din reply your sms-es cause seriously, you wouldn't want to msg much with my basic phone. I really appreciate all of it though. It helps me get through the day. It may be a simple action for you all but it goes a long way for me. For the guys, it was really fun how we will book out and start going what-the-fuck at the seargents and all the trainings and the stupid stuff we did. We talk about sit test, field camp and woah, endless topic lah. Common topic for guys. I miss laughing with the whole bunch of you all! Of course there was my bunk mates and platoon mates! Joon Fai, Francis, Edmund, Melvyn, Gearld, Nigel, Daniel, John, Mathew, Jackson, Leon, Jun jie, Aken, Willy. They make everyday a blast and never fail to lift the morale and spirit within the section. We swear, we laugh, we go through thick and thin together and made it all there at the end of the day. We got what we wanted as our posting and i'm sure that we'll all make it in life. Thanks for taking care of me during the whole bmt period especially when i was freaking sick that day. Rock on! Obviously there are more, but i'm lazy to type. Hah. Shooting closed down yesterday. Srsc. It brings back alot of memories for me, since i was jc1 all the way even up till now. I remember how i entered the range and went for the trials. Sitting at the bench and watching the senior do their shoot. It was kinda cool. I thought i din made it through the trials and got super sad that night but the next morning, i recieved the news that i got into shooting. And from then, a freaking beautiful journey in shooting happened. Apart from improving, i learnt many life lessons there. Our coach Mr ng and Miss lyn taught us how to compose ourself during out shoot. Not only that, they taught us what it means to have fun and dun care about anything in the world. They were more than coaches when they gave us guidiance when we din know what to do to solve that problem. Without them, i wouldn't be what i am now, or so, shooting wun be what it is now. I made lots of good friends in there especially fellow teo. Awesome maximum. They make my life in shooting so freaking fun! There was never a dull moment. When we din shoot well, we'll cheer each other up. I enjoy the good rep that we all have for each other. I would never forge the annual camp that we once had. The team that planned together with me and gave me all the support they could offer. It was a blast, it was fun and yet, all good things come to an end. Photos really bring back the memories that i have in srsc, it kinda changed me alot, a good getaway from the busy and stressful life back up there. Deep in my heart, i thank shooting and everything that comes together with it for shaping me to who i am now.Shoot for Legacy. There's a whole lot of things on my mind now that i couldn't even flew my kite properly just now. Sometimes, i really wished that i din hear what people talk about each, bad mouthing one another behind people's back. I mean say it for fun it's okay, but dun go and bitch around and stuff. We're like 18 eh, old enough to start a family. Matured adults and we should be thinking like one. Gone were the days were the i dun friend you and stuff. I super dislike being uncertain of myself. It's kinda weird how there was this day, i totally had no confidence in myself. I din know how to communicate and it feels as if i'm just drifting through the day. I couldn't pay attention and stuff. What the heck man. And now with scs, what will life be like. It's inevitable to be worried. I really want to know sometimes, what i am or how much i mean to people. And with that, bmt is overrrrr! :D Bye ;D Sunday, April 3, 2011; ( 5:46 PM )
